About Riffing On Wrestling:

Riffing On Wrestling is a pro wrestling newsletter with a twist: I like to think of it as a compendium of my 30 years of fandom.

You will not find gossip here, nor weekly reviews of Raw and Dynamite. Instead, there will be columns on newsworthy subjects, interviews with pro wrestlers past and present, anecdotes from my 9 years as editor of Fighting Spirit Magazine, and podcasts to include all of the above.

Perhaps most importantly, I’ll be sharing with you my personal experience as a pro wrestling viewer, with links to the matches I’ve been watching, books I’ve been reading, and discourse I’ve been hearing.

Whether you’re right up-to-date, or a lapsed fan interested in re-entering this fascinating world, allow me to point you in the direction of the best professional wrestling has to offer.

My pledge for Riffing On Wrestling:

While many countries continue to be locked down due to COVID-19, Riffing On Wrestling will be entirely free to read. However, if you’ve enjoyed the newsletter, and can afford to do so, you may consider a donation using Substack’s payment system.

About me:

I’ve been a writer and editor for 15 years, at newspapers such as the Belfast Telegraph and The News Letter, as well as Fighting Spirit Magazine. I have also written for the likes of the Associated Press, The Canadian Press, Sports Illustrated, and Yahoo! Sports.

I first became a fan of pro wrestling in 1991, during the World Wrestling Federation’s first UK boom period, and I’ve spent three decades since researching pro wrestling from around the world.
